Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1
    ARRIVAL AT NJP / BAGDOGRA & TRANSFER TO PHEUNTSHOLING

    Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP / IXB & transfer to Pheuntsholing – The Gateway of Bhutan by road from India, Pheuntsholing (also sometimes spelled Phuntsholing) is the second largest town in Bhutan (population around 40,000) and is located on the Indian border, next to the town of Jaigaon. Overnight stay at Pheuntsholing.

  • Day 2
    TRANSFER TO THIMPHU & SIGHTSEEING AT THIMPHU

    After Permit processing, transfer to Thimphu. After check in at hotel, half day sightseeing at Thimphu. Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan. Visit King's Memorial Chorten (Monument), Chang Gangkha Monastery (one of the oldest monastery in the valley), National Zoo (contains national animal takin ), National Library (collections of holy scripts) & BBS Tower. (If Time does not permit visit the next day). Overnight in Thimphu.

  • Day 3
    THIMPHU FULL DAY SIGHTSEEING

    Today you will visit Folk Heritage Museum, Textile Museum, School of Arts and Crafts (also known as the painting school), National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Traditional Paper Factory (made from Daphne plant). Overnight in Thimphu.

  • Day 4
    TRANSFER TO PARO & SIGHTSEEING AT PARO

    Morning transfer to Paro (65 kms – 1.15 hrs drive). Visit the Ta Dzong, a circular fortress that once protected this valley from the Tibetan invasion. It is now the National Museum with an excellent collection of Bhutanese antiquities. A short drive back to the Paro Rinpung. While coming back from Drugyel Dzong visit 'Tiger's Nest' base camp & Kitchu monastery. The evening ends with a walk through the Paro's main shopping district. The local shops sell a variety of goods such as groceries, textiles as well as prayer flags. Overnight at Paro.

  • Day 5
    PARO FULL DAY SIGHTSEEING

    Morning drive to Chelela Pass. Enjoy the scenic vistas from Chelela Pass (3,988 Mts.), among the highest motorable roads in Bhutan. Afternoon sightseeing of Paro & stroll down to the market. Overnight at Paro.

  • Day 6
    TRANSFER TO DOOARS

    After check out drive to Dooars in India (190kms / 06 – 07 hrs). It’s a famous Wild Life Sanctuary for one horned rhino and Indian elephant. O/n stay at hotel / Resort at Dooars.

  • Day 7
    DOOARS TO NJP/BAGDOGRA

    Early morning elephant ride/car safari (At your own cost) inside the grassland of Dooars to watch the great Indian Rhino in their natural habitat. Drive to Bagdogra/NJP Station (142kms / 04hrs) to your onward journey. – Tour Ends
